Why We Will Beat Italy
Italy have had a pretty indifferent start to the tournament. Apart from their win over Ghana, they struggled against the USA, despite being a man up, and they failed to control the game against the Czechs, despite being a man up.
Italy are the one-nil specialists. They like to grab a goal and defend their lead. Australia are the comeback specialists. Once you get comfortable, they’ll hammer away at you, and eventually they’ll score. Just ask Uruguay, The Netherlands, Japan and Croatia.
Italy are a bunch of prissy, theatrical ballet dancers who drop at the first sign of a tackle. Australia take no prisoners. We will crush them into the dirt and send them packing back to their leg waxing salons on the Mediterranean.

Australia 2-1. Italy will play a little like Croatia, where they come out strong in the first 10 minutes of each half, but slack off at the end. Australia will clean up with another Hiddink sub tactice of Kennedy, Aloisi and fill-in-the-blank in the last 25 minutes again and clean up the match. That’s because Australia’s style for this World Cup, and it has paid off so far. Just as long as Schwarzer is back in goal again, and not that other bloke!!!
