Alright, after months of ignoring the upcoming US elections, I have decided to add my drivel to the collective political blogging pool, so I guess it’s time to pick a side.
For the past few months I have been concerned that the departure of George W. will hurt my website’s popularity, as the party faithful decide to ditch my beloved quote generator. However, John Sidney III has resolved this issue by selecting a VP candidate who is arguably worse at public speaking than the master himself.
If McCain/Palin get in, I can say hello to four more years of massive traffic! Of course, this generator is still in the early stages, so feel free to send me an email with anything that comes out of her mouth that you would like included. Add the generator to your website with this code:
Thanks to Daniel Kurtzman for the initial stock of quotes, and thanks as ever to Pascal Hakim for fortune. My Sarah Palin fortune module is freely available here if you are interested.
Finally, I would like to plug the greatest piece of political satire in living memory.
My beloved George W. Bush quote generator can now be added to your personalised Google home page! What exciting times we live in. I’ll fix up the Wiggles security thing as well, although that’s not that popular.
So how to work it? Simply click the following button!
Tremble in fear at my two types of quote generator!
It’s time for yet another little gadget. This one will give you a little graphic representing Sydney’s dam levels. It’s updated daily 5pm Thursdays from the Sydney Catchment Authority website.
As usual, paste the above code into your page to use. If you want it wider or narrower, just use http://marsupialmusic.net/stu/scripts/water.php?width=300 or whatever. The default is 80 pixels.
Check out this site, it turns your website into a nice graph. Doesn’t really tell you much, but looks good. Here’s mine.
blue: for links (the A tag) red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags) green: for the DIV tag violet: for images (the IMG tag) yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags) orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags) black: the HTML tag, the root node gray: all other tags
Yet another useless gimmick. This one uses the fortune program to generate a random quote/saying/joke/fortune for you. As usual, you can plug it into your site with a little bit of Javascript:
Hey hey kids! It’s time for another useless gadget to add to your web page. This one will spit out a randomly selected quote from our favourite president, George W.!
To use, all your need to do is copy this code into your blog! Stick your favourite photo of the man himself above for extra effect.
Now you can add the quote generator to your Google home page! Hooray!

Thank you for your continued support of the George W. Bush quote generator. In response to a couple of comments, I have modified the program to include a citation so that you can verify for yourself the accuracy of these quotes.
I’d also like to add a couple of hat-tips. The generator runs using Pascal Hakim’s excellent fortune program, together with Don Seiler’s Dubya module.

Yes yes, I have disabled the google plugin. Two reasons: firstly, the gadget is growing immensely popular; and secondly, my coding is so clunky that the server can no longer handle all the hits. If anyone has a solution, wants to rewrite the code, or help host the thing on their server, let me know.
I created this scale when I realised that there were a number of different ways for Americans to find out their current terror alert level, but no Australian equivalent. I’ve decided that the wiggles are the most appropriate Aussie icons to warn us of impending doom. To use my meter, simply add this code to your web page:
