It’s official. The British have reached all-new heights of stupidity.

The British Potato Council wants the expression stripped from the Oxford English Dictionary and replaced in everyday speech with the term “couch slouch.”
Groups of demonstrators were on Monday planning to stage protests outside the Oxford University Press offices and in London’s Parliament Square.
Kathryn Race, head of marketing at the British Potato Council which represents some 4,000 growers and processors, said the group had written to the Oxford English Dictionary stating its objections but had not yet had a response.

Academic Honesty

With all the uproar lately about Prof. Bruce Hall’s academic misconduct (what else do you expect from a UNSW researcher), I’ve decided that all executive summaries should contain the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Here’s the summary from my latest Process Control report:

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

CStation was used to masturbate furiously for approximately 48 hours, in order to scrounge a few measley marks for a retarded subject that we couldn’t really care less about, and are only interested in scraping through to avoid yet another fail on our transcripts.

After trying to work out the answers to all the questions, we asked some mates who did the course last year for their assignments. We sifted through about three or four different reports, taking out the best material, and then wrote our own introduction and conclusion. Seeing as though it’s only worth 5%, there was not much point in doing any actual work.

We found that because we made up all the controller settings, each method was equally shithouse, and you should probably jut pick one out of a hat when you are designing controllers for your process plants. Lets face it, we’re shitty engineers anyway, and one more weak link in the process will just speed up the inevitable accident, bring about our untimely deaths, and make the planet a safer place.

On the other hand, we did hand in a shitload of graphs in our appendicies, and everyone loves graphs. Don’t they?

Now that’s honesty
